Nick Carroll

Nick has worked within the healthcare sector for over 20 years after a successful career in the military. He is an accomplished ‘hands-on’ Senior Manager and holds various management and business qualifications, including an NVQ Level 5 in Management and a HND in Business and Finance. Nick was previously the Managing Director and founding member of a large Midlands based nursing agency with an annual turnover in excess of £10m. He started StaffAid in May 2016 and is responsible for its leadership, strategic business planning, service delivery and profitable growth. He is a keen sports enthusiast with a particular interest in boxing, having boxed competitively in London several times. Nick is married to Andrea and lives in Redmile with Harvey ‘Head of Security’.


Chris Easom

Chris is Nick’s ‘right-hand man’ having worked with Nick for many years. He is responsible for business development, social media and IT. Graduating from Staffordshire University in 2004, he has worked within the service sector for over 15 years. Chris thrives on regular interaction with clients and prides himself on building long and mutually beneficial working relationships. Chris is a real sports enthusiast with a particular passion for Manchester United. He also plays 5-side football regularly. He lives in Melton Mowbray with his partner Ellie and daughter Eva.


Caren Bowen

Caren is responsible for the day-to-day management of our Lincoln office. As Head of Care she also plays a pivotal role in ensuring we maintain high standards of care provision across all our offices. Caren is NVQ 3 qualified and has previously worked as a deputy manager in a care home. With over 25 years experience in care she brings invaluable knowledge and ‘hands-on’ experience to the team. Caren lives in Gainsborough with her partner Dave and in her spare time undertakes voluntary work for a charity called ‘Unload’, which offers help and support to veterans of the armed forces.


Donna Atkinson

Donna has worked in care for over 30 years, 9 of which as a registered manager. She is NVQ 4 qualified and is still very ‘hands-on’ covering senior carer shifts for StaffAid as required. Donna’s primary role is the recruitment of new agency staff and she also offers vital support to Caren in ensuring our services are of the highest standard. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the gym and spending time with her 3 grandchildren. Donna lives in Gainsborough with her partner Mark.


Andrea Carroll

Andrea has worked part-time for Nick for many years. She is a qualified moving & handling and basic life support trainer. In addition, Andrea manages our weekly payroll administration, agency staff compliance and assists with the recruitment process of new care staff. Having previously worked in both care homes and home care, Andrea also provides valuable ‘hands-on’ care experience.


Lorraine Pingue

Lorraine has worked within the care sector for over 3 years in an administrative support role and is based in our Leicester office with Emma. She is responsible for compliance, general administration and payroll. Having previously worked with Nick & Chris, Lorraine is integral to our continued expansion plans and will be instrumental in ensuring the ongoing success of our Leicester office. Lorraine lives in Melton Mowbray with her husband and 2 children. She enjoys the gym, walking the dog and baking.


Jo Wilkinson

Jo qualified as a nurse in 1985 and advises Nick on all clinical-related matters, as well as squeezing in a few agency nurse shifts too! Jo is actively involved in our nurse recruitment process, assessing all nurses on their clinical competence before they start work. She also plays a significant part in our ‘Return to Care’ programme. Jo worked in the NHS for 37 years reaching senior management level, before taking early retirement in March 2020. She has a wealth of experience, particularly within elderly care, which is of great benefit to StaffAid. Jo is very active and enjoys regular visits to the gym, keeping fit, skiing and retail therapy!


Sarah Box

Sarah is a highly experienced finance professional and has worked with Nick since 1998. She has held various senior positions including Financial Controller and Finance Director at both regional and national level. Sarah is responsible for providing vital financial reporting and financial management, crucial to StaffAid’s continued successful expansion. Sarah enjoys the outdoors and going to gym. She lives in Leicester.



Harvey manages security to ensure we all have a safe place to work. He comes from a champion bloodline – so be warned!. He’s very playful and full of character. Harvey likes chewing, sniffing, exercise and sleeping. He is available for walks 24/7!
