A Good Samaritan who paid nearly £160 for a new train ticket for a stranded student is a kind-hearted nurse. Martin Gallagher stepped in when he saw Grace Georgina in tears after losing the second part of her return ticket. She was warned she would be unable to travel back to university in Liverpool without a valid ticket. Martin, a nurse specialising in kidney disease, sprang into action and footed the £159 bill to enable the pharmacy student to get a fresh ticket. Explaining his random act of kindness, Martin said: “I have two daughters myself, 12 and 10, and if something like that were to happen to them, I would want someone to help them.
